Hand-coded websites for small businesses who want better than a template.

Most small businesses get sold a WordPress theme with their logo on it. Good Measure builds the actual site, hand-coded for the business, with one person responsible from brief to launch.

The speed and price come from using AI-assisted development properly. One person, working with modern tools, can deliver in days what used to take a team. Quality doesn't compromise for it.

Every project is scoped up front and quoted as a fixed fee. No hourly meters, no surprise invoices, no scope creep.

Section 01 · Build fees

Website project tiers

Pick the tier that matches the ambition of the build. Each tier is a fixed-fee, end-to-end package covering discovery, design, development and launch. Bolt-ons sit underneath if you need extras.

Tier 01
Foundation
For sole traders and very small businesses who need a credible online presence, fast.
£750 – £1,500 fixed fee
+ VAT
  • Up to 5 pages
  • Contact form and on-page SEO basics
  • Technical SEO and analytics setup
  • Domain and hosting setup
  • 1 round of revisions
  • 30 days post-launch support
Timeline 2 – 3 weeks · Deposit 50%
Typical buyer: a tradesperson, local service, or new business getting online for the first time. The job is credibility and a phone call, fast.
Tier 03
Bespoke
For design-led brands and premium studios with specific requirements.
From £8,000 on enquiry
+ VAT

Bespoke projects don't fit a fixed package. Scope, design system, build complexity and timeline are unique to each engagement, and the work is quoted accordingly.

Typically commissioned via referral or introduction. Get in touch to start a conversation.

Timeline 6 – 12 weeks typical · Deposit staged

Section 04 · Hosting

Hosting & the bits that go with it

Hosting scales with the project. The mechanics are the same at every level (hosting, SSL, daily backups, uptime monitoring, domain renewal passed through at cost); the performance and resource allocation scale up with the build complexity. Anything beyond hosting (edits, content updates, redesigns) is billed hourly or scoped as a project.

Section 06 · The process

How a project runs

Step 01 · Discovery (free)
30-min call

No fee, no commitment. We talk about the business, what the site needs to do, what success looks like, and whether we're the right fit.

Step 02 · Fixed quote
Written proposal

Within 5 working days. Tier, scope, timeline, deliverables, exclusions and price, all in one document. No surprises.

Step 03 · Build
Weekly check-ins

Short weekly update with screenshots and a staging link. Async by default, calls when needed. You see progress, not just an invoice.

Step 04 · Launch & aftercare
Handover & support

DNS cutover, 301 redirects, analytics verified, training video for the CMS if relevant. 30 days of post-launch support on every tier.

Section 07 · What we don't do

Out of scope, referred out

Some things sit outside what Good Measure does well. Rather than do them badly, the honest answer is to refer to someone who does them properly.

For these, I'll point you to someone good rather than do them badly myself.

  • E-commerce builds · Shopify or a Shopify specialist
  • Brand identity & logo design · introduced to a brand designer
  • Photography · introduced via the studio's production network
  • Ongoing SEO retainers · introduced to an SEO specialist
  • Brand strategy & positioning · introduced to a strategist
  • Web apps, portals, anything with logins · not the right fit here

Section 08 · Things to know
